Biswabharati Club (Cuttack) defeated Sahid Sporting (Bhubaneswar) in the final by five wickets to win the 2nd All-Orissa Nalco Cup Cricket Tournament at Biju Patnaik Stadium in Angul on Thursday.
Biswabharati bagged the top prize of Rs 15,000, while Sahid Sporting received Rs 10,000. Host Nalco General Manager (HR) S S Patnaik gave away the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function. Former India Test opener Shiv Sundar Das was present on the occasion as guest.
Partha Samal and Debraj Kar were adjudged the man of the match and man of the tournament respectively.
Brief scores: Sahid Sporting 132/10 in 32.3 overs (Debraj Kar 50, Pratap Patnaik 36; Sanojit Samal 4 wkts, Goutam Sahu 3 wkts, Partha Samal 2 wkts) lost to Biswabharati 133/5 in 30.2 overs (Rakesh Mohanty 41, Partha Samal 34).
